Caffeine and Smoking Slows Down Growth of Fetus


Medically, caffeine and smoking is not considered good for the health of the fetus. Both are toxin for the fetus as they immediately get mixed up into bloodstream and directly affect the growth of the baby. It slows down the cell development which is turn lead to low birth weight of the baby.
Generally, it is being considered that consumption of caffeine is not good for those women who are pregnant or trying to conceive. Pregnancy and caffeine both are not suitable for each other as caffeine is with birth risks. Caffeine in large quantities needs to be avoided as they may slows down fetus growth. According to one of the source, caffeine during pregnancy must be consumed in less than 200mg in daily routine during pregnancy. One of the main risks which are linked with the consumption of caffeine is miscarriage. It is being considered that risk of miscarriage in those pregnant women is high who consumed caffeine in more than 200mg quantities.  One of the statistics says that, women consuming caffeine in more than 200mg ratio is prone to the risk of miscarriage for up to 56percent. Beside miscarriage, caffeine causes constriction in the blood vessels. This way limited amount of blood and oxygen supply would be delivered to the fetus which in turn halts the proper growth of the baby.
Apart from caffeine, smoking during pregnancy is also one of the bad habits which are adopted by pregnant women. According to one of the research, if smoking is avoided during the first three months of the pregnancy then all learning and behavioral patterns disorders can be avoided. The reason is that during that time period brain and spinal cord are in the development process. Risks of smoking during pregnancy includes like ectopic pregnancies, placental abruption, vaginal bleeding and greater chances of still birth. The babies born might with low birth weight or premature. They might possess birth defects and are underweight as well. Drinking plenty of water could be one of the ways to quit smoking.
On the other hand, probiotics are considered to be good for the pregnant women. Most of the pregnant women asked question, are probiotics safe during pregnancy? Yes they are safe during pregnancy because they contain good bacteria which fight with the bad ones and thus maintain a healthy balance. The urinary tract of the women gets healthy as bad bacteria are killed by probiotics bacteria. Also, immunity of the body gets enhanced and enables pregnant women to give birth to a healthier baby.
