Pregnancy Books on Preconception Plan

Pregnancy books are composed in order to deliver information about managing pregnancy and about preconception plan. Incorporating methods and diet that helps in healthy pregnancy are explained by the medical experts like obstetrics and gynecologist.
Pregnancy books contain information on the newborn care, maternity clothes, things mother need during pregnancy, motherhood and adjusting with new life of a baby. Most of the pregnant women start reading pregnancy books when they get pregnant but preconception plan is very important. According to the suggestions by experts inside pregnancy books, healthy pregnancy is only possible if mother is healthy at the time of conception. If she experience miscarriage before then she need a break to get prepared for her next pregnancy both physically and mentally. Preconception plan can better be devised by your midwife as she is well aware of your body’s needs.  Pregnancy books for first time moms help them to know all about pregnancy and its related issues. If you are conceiving for the very first time then you need to consult your health care practitioner or midwife first. She will let you know either you are in a position to conceive or not. The books also have mentioned the methods of choosing the practitioner for your pregnancy.
Preconception plan also encircles lifestyle habits of the women who want to conceive. Smoking is one of such habits which are not considered to be safe for pregnancy. Why smoking is harmful? The reason is that it causes constriction in the blood vessels which in turn cause discomfort for the baby.  Only limited supply of oxygen and nutrients would reach out to baby and thus this way baby get suffocated and may breathe forcefully. Smoking contains nicotine which is the main culprit for developing such condition. Not only nicotine is dangerous but carbon monoxide inhaled by the smoker is also injurious. Risks of smoking during pregnancy includes: ectopic pregnancies, placental abruption, low birth weight baby, preterm labor and birth defects like cleft lip.
Apart from smoking, caffeine is also one of the bad habits and its consumption must be limited in order to avoid posed risk associated with its intake. According to the medical study on caffeine and pregnancy, if caffeine is consumed in more than 500mg during pregnancy by the pregnant women then babies of such mothers are with faster heart rates and blood pressure. To be on the safer side, caffeine in less than 200mg is considered to be safe which is equal to a coffee cup containing 12 ounces of caffeine in it. If it is consumed in more than 200mg then the risk of stillbirth and miscarriages are also high.
